The complicated heart...

Dearest Reader, join me with a cup of your favorite beverage. Meet me where the air is fresh, while we walk along grass that tickles our feet and the sound of peaceful water fountains singing their melody. Today we will discuss the world's most complex and daunting subject: the heart.

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" - Jeremiah 17:9

Can we be humble enough to admit our hearts have been deceitful, and not just sick, but DESPERATELY sick? We will be doing a heart check-up today. So be honest with yourself as you read over this. Dear one, also know I am not condemning you. I am writing this for myself, for lately I am seeing how much more true this verse is in my life.

"Follow your heart!" is what society, culture, and movies pound into us. Truth be told, masses listen to this lullaby and buy the lie that we can trust our hearts to decide what is best for our lives. Humans are emotional, period. We have let our emotions lead us in many ways. Even when you shut them off, sometimes that makes them even more powerful. I raise my hand in agreement that I have smudged the fine line between Spirit and Emotions.

We have a God-given ability to feel and sense things. Then, when you are born again, you get to receive the Holy Spirit, which is the greatest compass. Alongside daily prayer and being in the Word. Am I saying throw away all emotions and never listen to what you feel? NO, let me share with you what I tell my siblings about this... WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING or DECIDE SOMETHING.

Never do it when you are hungry
Never do it when you are angry
Never do it when you are sleepy

Now, this is not for every situation in life obviously. But in most cases, it is helpful to be in a stable place; otherwise, our judgment is clouded. We have made emotional decisions and acted out based on how we feel. Yahweh can use it, but we should NEVER build our life upon that. Our life is built on TRUTH, and many times our heart speaks its own truth.

This world is run on the emotional truth found in the human heart. This is why we have so many problems. We let everything get to us in some way or another. We desire many times to please the call from our heart rather than think it through with our mind.

"For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander."." Matthew 15:19

Beloved, we are up against two enemies. Our own thoughts and the enemy of our soul, the dragon of old who whispered lies into the heart of Eve. Who in turn led her husband into the same trap. And the cycle has not stopped. We do not have the power within ourselves to fight such forces. That is why the greatest commandment says to love Yahweh with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. This command is not making Yahweh out to be some selfish King or our desires mindless subjects. Actually, this commandment is a safeguard against the enemy. For when we are loving Him, we are filled with love. WHEN THE HEART IS FULL OF LOVE, IT IS NO LONGER DECEITFUL OR DESPERATELY SICK.

"So as a man thinks in his heart, so is he......." Proverbs 23:7

~WE HAVE A HEART CONDITION ~

Cherished one, you and I suffer from a serious and severe condition of the heart. It started from the very first time that spark of energy started up the engine of life. From the womb, we have had this; we were born with it. What is this condition called? Lovesickness. We are born desperate in need of love, and that NEVER goes away. We are chronically desperate for love. It is a lifelong condition, with only one absolute cure. Without this cure, we will go around seeking for it, only to be found dying from the lack. What we believe in our heart about love, others, life, Yahweh {God}, and ourselves is the most powerful force in nature.

~THE CURE~

The cure to the hurt, brokenness, loneliness, sickness, desperation, and hunger is found in an all-consuming light. A warmth that can be felt all the way to our cells. For it is the love that brought us to life. It is beyond anything found on earth. When we can find Him, our soul comes alive like it was created to. We are healed. He removed the condition of our heart and replaced it with something only he can. A NEW HEART.
