"On His robe and on His thigh, He has a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords."" Revelation 19:16
Dear Reader,
Thank you for joining me here again. It wouldn't be the same without you. It would be like trying to eat a whole pizza alone. You could, but shouldn't. Or like singing a duet solo, it would be found wanting. With you here, it is complete, like a dance partner, or a friend to sit with. I just want you to know I appreciate you being here. Anyhow, let's get to today's blog.... MY BREADWINNER.
"Christianity is not a cafeteria line where you say, "I'll have a little bit of Salvation, but no Lordship right now."." Adrain Rodgers
Recently, the repetitive saying of "Is Yeshua {Jesus} your Lord and Savior?" has been standing out to me. It has put a deep stirring in my spirit, a deep yearning for the answer for myself. I got saved at three years old. However, He didn't become my Lord until I was about nine. What do I mean by Him becoming my Lord at a different point in time than when I got saved? It means I recognized Him as the Breadwinner of my life at nine.
HISTORY OF THE WORD LORD: The Old English word hlāford is the origin of the word "lord" and means "lord" or "male head of a household". It is made up of the words hlāf, which means "loaf of bread", and weard, which means "keeper" or "guard".
(Google helps with things like this;)
"For this is how the holy women of the past adorned themselves. They put their hope in Yahweh and were submissive to their husbands. Just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and CALLED HIM LORD. And you are her children if you do what is right and refuse to give way to fear." 1 Peter 3:5~6
Why on earth is Sarah calling Abraham "Lord"? Is that not elevating him to too high of a role? I believe we have gotten an idea of the term "Lord" that is not completely accurate. That is why I shared the history of the word. It means "loaf keeper," "loaf guard," or in our modern way of talking, BREADWINNER!
From the beginning of time, man was the one to tend to the garden, watch over the earth, and be the guardian of all that is under his dominion. This is the very reason why the enemy hit him in just the right place. The crown of creation that was given to him as a helpmeet, the most intimate creation to him. His rib he was supposed to hold, protect, lead, provide, and cherish.
We women are supposed to have a lord over us. A man's two main jobs are to provide and protect, with all the fine details that fall under those. But that is still not enough and The Great Fall proves that. Now let's go deeper.
Is Yeshua the Lord of your life? Yes, He is the Savior, but is He the Lord? Do you recognize Him as your sustainer, provider, protector, master, and head? Do you submit to Him with your life? Do you confide in Him as your breadwinner? He is the Bread of Life, but do we go to Him when we are hungry? Or do we fill ourselves with fast food or nutritionless fake bread?
These are the questions I have been asking myself. I am working through all of these, but I wanted to write this to help me with my thinking. I think things through better when writing. So I hope this was some food for thought. Maybe I will make a part two, but for now, I leave you with the question.
Is Yeshua Lord of your life?????????????
~
With LOVE
Elysa
