"No one knows what you have been through, or what your beautiful eyes have seen, but I assure you ~ whatever you have conquered, it shines through your mind." - Nikki Rowe
Beloved reader, we all have been through things. Some things are easy to get through, you just need to stop for a moment to catch your breath. Other times it's like Mount Everest just decided to move in and replace your once beating beautiful heart. My dearest reader, there are many Mount Everest climbs I have been through, many moments where I went on a journey to try and find the person I was. What I found many times was the debris of many past relationships, hopes, dreams, and even versions of myself I once was.
I must confess many things to you and most of them have terrified me. The very first thing I must confess is that I have held back many things that I wish I could have screamed from the mountain tops. Things I wish I could write or say to save someone else from the cliff that is just ahead. Why? Out of fear of the people that brought me to the mountain and dropped me off there to try and live. Taking with them all the things I needed to survive. I survived, I not only survived, I am now thriving. I am thriving because when man left me, betrayed me, abandoned me, and hurt me, I saw the truth. As I was shivering at the brink of my end and with nowhere to turn, He said "I take you in." He shined His light down on me, He showed me He never leaves and He reminded me of a promise easily overlooked. "I will never leave you or forsake you!"
Many people reading this will be confused and also have their own interpretation. My words can easily be twisted and turned. So let me make this one statement clear, If what I say offends you, then you should check your heart. If my words confirm what you have been through, then I am here to tell you that you have hope. I am not trying to be contentious or cynical. I am doing what I am doing to prove to myself that I am recovering from that Mount Everest moments.. What was meant to crush me produced the best outcome. An appreciation of life I could never have had without losing so much.
So if it is okay, I am going to get more real with you, more honest about the things that scare me. The things I still try to put under the rug out of the fear of the judgment of others. That fear is needed to do the greatest work. So here we go, what was set to crush me I have conquered and I want to share in this celebration with you. To encourage all and any who need to believe again "WHO THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED!!!!!"
"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was on Him and by His wounds we are healed!" Isaiah 53:5
He is acquainted with pain, betrayal, loss, loneliness, hurt, and everything that we feel. He is not numb to our suffering, but bore it so we can have peace. I will not be doing what I am doing to get clicks, please others, or bash anyone. I am bringing my suffering forward without any more hesitation because HE GETS ALL THE GLORY! If what I write or share doesn't scare me, I am not writing well enough. What we do in life should scare us enough to make us choose to be brave. My favorite Bible verse, Joshua 1:9, tells me so. So here is the overcoming story of the things that were set to crush me. To tell you that you can overcome too! So here we go, oh Father, may you get the glory! You deserve to have the peace and healing that is the gift of the crushing of our beautiful Savior. Let's share in it together. Hand in hand as we walk down this mountain. You don't need to keep going around it.
With love
yours truly Elysa
